Some 700 "try harderideas by Avis Truck Rental customers have yielded four award winners. They are:
(1) Rental periods should provide for overnight loading, with delivery of the vehicle to the customer by Avis.
(2) A handbook should be supplied with each vehicle, of which there are more than 20 types for hire.
(3) Avis should recommend the most appropriate kind of vehicle for the job to be done.
(4) Facilities for hiring between 6pm and 7am should be improved.
Winners will be taken on a week's tour of the Avis American network and the General Motors plant in Detroit. Runners-up will have a champagne weekend at the Holiday Inn Hotel in London. Never the pushing type, I would settle for the champers.
