V1/47ST Yorkshire Road Car Co. Ltd., : to acquire the 100-bus-and-coach Samuel Ledgard firms S. Ledgard (Bradford) Ltd. and S. Ledgard (Ilkley) Ltd. The deal has been arranged by Mr. Tom Ledgard, son of the late Samuel Ledgard, and West Yorkshire director and general manager Mr. J. W. Lawrence.

Takeover date is subject to Yorkshire Traffic Commissioners' grant of licences to West Yorkshire for the Ledgard services. Ledgard's head office and garage is at Armley Leeds, with depots at Bradford, Otley, Ilkley and Yeadon.
