• Once again Commercial Motor will be sponsoring Britain's road transport showcase, Truckfest, on Sunday-Monday, May 34 — and Truckfest '87 looks set to be the best yet.
Naturally the leading truck manufacturers will be displaying their wares at Peterborough's East of England Showground, but a host of other displays and events will guarantee a superb day out for the whole family.
▪ The Multipart Skytrain will be wheelying in the main arena, while 'monster truck' Skyhigh will be driving over cars. . but not, we are assured, in the car park!
▪ Guest stars will include Renee, Yvette and Herr Flick from the hit TV series 'Alio Alto; motorcycle and truck racing ace Barry Sheene; Saturday Superstore star Keith Chegwin and Paul Nicholas from Just Good Friends. 111 America's strongest man, 171kg (27 stone) Rick 'Grizzly' Brown, will be giving Geoff Capes a run for his money in the Mercedes-Benz UK Strongman Challenge, while, by way of contrast, page three girl Maria Whittaker will be watching contenders for the new Miss Truckfest award.
