• Inverness County Council has informed CM that, although it has formed a subcommittee of the roads committee to consider applications for subsidies for rural bus and ferry services under the terms of the Transport Act 1968, and has received one or two applications—mainly regarding ferry services —no action is being taken at the moment.
The council is anticipating receipt of a circular to be issued shortly by the Scottish Development Department giving details of the central Government's intentions in this respect.
