• East Coast Ferries will launch a RO-RO freight service between Hull and Dunkirk on 14 September. It will run every day except Saturdays, leaving at 17:00hrs and arriving at 09:00hrs the next morning.
Facilities on the new route will include dedicated berths, rest areas and secure storage compounds with room for 300 trailers.
Crossings will cost about £360 for driver-accompanied 15-18m trailers, and £280 for unaccompanied 10m-13.6m trailers.
Both ports have good access to motorway networks and rail links, offering savings in driving time for hauliers working to and from the north of England and Scotland.
