Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

HAVING READ the comments of David Gill (CM, August 20) re garding Iveco/Magirus eightwheeled vehicles, I am concerned at his apparent lack of knowledge in this sphere.

The function of an eightwheeled rigid is completely different from that of a tractor/ semi-trailer.

Rigid tippers are used by operators for on/off-road opera tion, particularly in the case of the "Maggie", at which function it has had little serious competi tion. Could it be that Mr Gill is paving the way for the phasing out of this range?

I would also be interested to know how many operators still carry "coke".
