Optional extras when not included in the standard specification include Tecalemit chassis lubrication at £695, VDO road-speed governor at £395, Telma CC160 retarder at £2,200, drophead control for low driving position £999, and aluminium wheels at £950.

To launch its new range, Volvo is holding a series of road shows and will be showing examples at CM Coach Fair '83 at Syon Park, London, on September 22 and 23.

The road show venues are the Aubrey Park Hotel at Redbourne, Hertfordshire on September 12, the Runnymede Hotel at Egham, Surrey on September 14, the Crest at Bristol on September 19, the Ladbroke Mercury at Weatherby, West Yorkshire on September 21, the Skean Dhu at Irvine, Ayrshire on September 28 and the Rothley Court at Leicester on September 30. All programmes start at 12.30 pm with a buffet lunch and all operators are welcome.

Examples of Volvo B1OM coaches with bodywork by Duple, Jonckheere, Plaxton, Van Hool, Berkhof, Irizar and Van Rooijan are expected at the road show venues.

Volvo is to reveal the first allVolvo coach based around the B1OM chassis at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The coach has been developed for the Italian market by Volvo BM Italia Spa. The body was designed by Italian stylist Giorgetto Giugiaro and has been proved by the Volvo Bus Corporation at its test track in Sweden.

Initially 15 of the all-Volvo coaches are to be built in Italy for the local market in a bid to improve Volvo's Italian coach penetration. It is possible that the coach will make a surprise visit to some of the later Volvo Road Show venues.
