FORD has announced a range Of "Long Haul" options for the .Transcontinental artic range, and so joins the list of truck manufacturers who produce a so-called "Middle East" cab.
The options are available only on the 4x2 models at present, but many of the parts are interchangeable and will be released for 6x4 artics and for the rigids in the near future.
The Special Vehicle Order (SVO) options which include features which are rapidly becoming standard issue for this type of operation like gas cooker, refrigerator and air conditioning are grouped into four option packages.
The basic Long Haul package gives the driver washing and cooking facilities. A tworing gas cooker and a small wash basin are mounted next to one another, replacing the glove boxes and covered by separate lids. When raised, the lid of the cooker acts as a ;plash back.
Perhaps reflecting the cookng ability of the long-distance iriver, a liquid type fire extin;uisher is provided.
