Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A new de luxe cab option, offering increased comfort and convenience for the driver, has been introduced on Chrysler UK's Dodge range of vehicles this week. Price for the new cab option is £30.

The driving seat and dual passenger seat are now trimmed in breathable Amblair, an easy-to-clean hard-wearing material designed to resist sagging and creasing.

Both doors are trimmed, as are the back panel and rear quarter panels. There is also a styled, leathercloth shroud for the brake control valve and preformed, black-grained cover enclosing the steering column and pedal bracket. The facia panel has a fully padded surround and there is a padded knee roll for passenger safety. The driver's door is now fitted with an armrest. Padded sunvisors extend across most of the cab width, while windscreen washers are electrically operated. A lockable glove box is also provided.

Externally the de luxe cab is distinguished by a bright metal grille surround and a bright finish to the windscreen surround.

Also announced is the uprating of the Dodge K950 from 14 to l4f tons gvw. The new model, marketed at the same price as its predecessor, has been developed to cater for a sector of the market that has grown primarily out of a requirement for domestic fuel oil tankers of 10,000 litres capacity, con

sidered the standard size for this type of work.

Changes in specification to the K950 to accommodate the increased gross weight include new lightweight front and rear springs with a 5-ton plated front axle and a 10-ton plated rear axle on the 112, 128 and 158 in.-wheelbases (5.25-ton and 9.75-ton on 180 in. and 205in.-wheelbases).

A variable ratio Burman 2750 steering box, 10.00 x 20 16-ply tyres and heavy-duty brake linings are also standard. while the heavy-duty Perkins 6.354-2 engine is available as an option to the standard Perkins unit.

July production increase

• In the four weeks ended July 31 the average rate of recorded production of commercial vehicles was 6900 a week, 23 per cent higher than in July. 1970.

As in 1970, the lower rates of recorded production in July, compared with earlier months of the year, reflect the inclusion of at least part of the principal holiday periods of all the major manufacturers.
