Mr. S. Vickers has joined the Owen Group as group transport controller.
Mr. R. J. Smeed, who since 1947 has been deputy director of research in charge of the traffic and safety division of the Road Research Laboratory. has been appointed chief scientist to the Ministry of Land and Natural Resources, with effect from October 4.
Mr. J. J. Henson, clerk to the East Midland Licensing Authority and Traffic Commissioners for the past 20 fears. has retired at the age of 65. Mr. Henson joined the Civil Service 50 years ago and moved to Nottingham from the Western area in 1945. He has been succeeded by Mr. J. It Marshall, who was chief administration officer, divisional road engineer, East Midland division.
For health reasons, Mr. H. Lennie, responsible for Press relations and information as well as being advertising manager of Albion Motors Ltd.. has had to relinquish his post and has been succeeded as advertising manager by Mr. Renzi) D. Storti, Mr. R. G. Henderson, transport manager for 10 years with Newalls Insulating and Chemical Co. Ltd., Washington, has retired. He joined the firm's transport department 38 years ago.
Mr. A. E. Godden has been appointed a director of West Riding. Automobile Co. Ltd .
Mr. D. H. Adam's, general manager of The Midland Motor Co. (Nottingham) Ltd. and subsidiary . companies John Bennett (Road Transport) Ltd., Express of Liverpool (Storage) Ltd. and Sawley Transport Ltd., has been appointed a director of these companies.
Mr. R. M. (Dick) Hewlett, sales controller at Renault's UK headquarters for the past seven years, has been appointed assistant sales manager of Wallace Arnold Sales and Service Ltd., VauxhallBedford main dealers.
Mr. B. McMahon has joined Clayton Dewandre Co. Ltd., Lincoln, to assume overall control of the service and Spare parts organization. Mr. McMahon joined Automotive Products at Leamington Spa on graduating in economics
