Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE HUMBER Bridge deserves better treatment, so that it can make a far larger contribution to the development of Humberside, the Freight Transport Association claimed this week.

Speaking at a dinner in Hull, ETA East Riding chairman Fraser Menzies urged the Humber Bridge Board to consider the joint FTA/Road Haulage Association submission on bridge tolls, and said that, as yet, it has had no response from the Board beyond a request for another 20 copies of the submission.

Mr Menzies repeated the two associations' call for the Board to co-ordinate a campaign of all those interested in the financing, provision, maintenance, and use of the crossing to press the Government and European Economic Community to write off some or all of the capital debt on the bridge.
