Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

now being produced in .a series, incorporating the new A.E.C. 9,6-litre direct-injection oil engine.

Designated the Matddor Mark III chassis, it is available as a 9-ft. 6-in. or 12-ft. 1-in, short-wheelbase model, as well as with the 14-ft. 7-in. and 16-ft. 7-in. wheel bases previously specified. The 9.6-litre engine installed in this, chassis was described in "The Commercial Motor' road test report of the Mark III double-decker passenger chassis, published on May 2 last. Developing 125 b.h.p. at 1,800 r.p.m., it has a maximum torque of 430 lb./ft at 1,000 r.p.m.

The frame and other major units of the chassis closely follow the Mark II series, with modifications to the transmission and braking. Hardy Spicer needle-roller couplings now replace the A.E.C. universal couplings previously specified, with taper-roller bearings superseding the roller-journal bearings which were fitted to the rear axle. Although it is installed as standard on the three longer wheelbase models, the auxiliary gearbox is not fitted to the 9-ft. 6-in, wheelbase chassis.

Triple servo braking replaces the vacuum servo hydraulic pattern as fitted to the Mark II chassis, mechanical linkage being provided for rear brake operation and individual servos for the front-wheel brakes. A duplex vacuum reservoir, diverter valve and vacuum pipe connection are installed to link up for trailer-brake operation.

The Autovac tank hats now been replacedby a fuel-lift pump, which, mounted on the side of the injection pump, is driven from the injectionpump camshaft. A 24-volt electrical system is standard throughout the chasiis, including the lighting circuit, which Was previously 12 volt. . Tyre sizes are now standardized at 10.00 ins. by 20 ins, all round, although 36-in. by 8-in. tyres are available.
