Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

WAITING LISTS for new tractor units are continuing to have a positive impact on sales of immediately available late-registered used ones, says Stuart Wolstenholme, of Scania dealership West Pennine.

"Customers placing orders for new Scania units in late October were being quoted March delivery dates,he says. "As a consequence there's a big demand for anything that's three years old or less.

"Stock of that age is difficult to find, and there's a particular shortage of low-horsepower units with small cabs. I can't remember the last time I had a P cab 4x2 tractor in stock, a contrast with the situation a few years back.

"There are a lot of five-year-old 6x2 units about though, and prices have been slipping a bit. We've had quite a large batch in, and we've had to cut the price by around £l.000 to generate a bit of interest."
