• Tiphook has been given the all-clear by the Monopolies and Mergers Commission for its 9.4m acquisition of Trailerent. The merger of the second and third largest operators in the trailer rental market will give them a market share of 34%.

The MMC has decided that the trailer rental market will still be competitive: it expects the vigorous price competition in the industry to continue, particularly as entry into the growing trailer rental market is relatively easy.
