HALL AND HAM RIVER'S 1962 profit (£1,325,637 gross, £538,637 net) dipped from the 1961 figures of 11,413,608-1597,608. However, the chairman, in his review, disclosed that there had been a rapid expansion of production and distribution of Surecrete and Ham River ready-mixed concrete during the year.
The chairman went on to say: "Since the announcement, in November, 1962, by the Amcy Group Ltd. and ourselves,that we had agreed to merge our readymixed concrete interests, it has proved inadvisable to complete the arrangement for practical and technical reasons. The mutual desire for a future merger still remains and close co-operation continues."
