Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Keywords : Road Safety

JUST BEFORE CHRISTMAS the road on the England/Scotland border was closed for 27 hours due to a truck crossing the central barrier.

More recently a vehicle crossed over at Stoke on the M6. It was closed for a long time, I think for something like 24 hours.

Has anyone worked out a cost for these cross-over crashes? It must cost thousands, if not more. There is lost time trying to get around the diversions, lost delivery times, etc.

What would it cost to put concrete barriers in the centre? You see them a lot in France and you see some nasty scars, but no one causes havoc by getting through the barrier.
