• Federal Express Systemline is to run a £1.4 million-a-year dedicated contract distribution service in Scotland for high street retailer Boots. Systemline will operate from Boots' depot in Coatbridge, near Glasgow, and is providing 34 Iveco Ford 16-tonne box vans, painted in Boots' livery, with 74 staff for the contract.
Systemline already handles one of Boots' area distribution operations from Wellingborough, and is negotiating another contract with the corn pany, due to be announced soon. During the past three months the Federal Express subsidiary has won contracts worth over £21 million: the latest deal involves delivering to 90 Boots stores north of the border.
