• Competition on the Oxford to London M40 run hotted up on Monday as Thames Transit's Oxford Tube coaches began running every 20 minutes.
Over 80 coaches a day are now operating on the route, including the competing Oxford Bus Company 190 service, which has been running every 20 minutes for over a year.
The Oxford Tube service was launched one year ago. Thames Transit also runs minibus services in Oxford in competition with Oxford Bus Company, and these too have been running since April 1987 in a fiercely fought city bus war.
