WITH reference to your news item on rival recovery shows in CM of February 25, we would like to point out that we do not consider Avro to be a rival.
Octagon Recovery is a member of Avro and supports its aims. The duplication of shows arose because we were told in January by the directorgeneral of Avro that Avro was not going to have an exhibition this year, so we decided to hold one. Subsequently we heard that the Avro council had reversed their original decision.
As a matter of statistics, Octagon has many more recovery companies in their network than Avro has members and we see no reason why the attendances should not reflect this.
