NEARLY 1,000 delegates to the national convention of the British Institute of Management at Wembley on Tuesday debated motions touching on the status, pay and education of managers, and the need to revitalise the British economy.
Supporting a composite motion on the economic, social and political policies and the requirements of managers, Terry Beckett (chairman and managing director Ford Motor Company), said managers must not pass the buck of responsibility to the politicians.
Industrial managers alone could bring about an economic revival, indeed their legitimacy as managers depended on this. If managers could r this they should put the pers on and leave it to , tivist bureaucrats.
