Talking about the aggressive and commercial approach! What about the latest National Travel (South East) Ltd package? They call it "A Day at the Races".

NT is offering a package deal to travel agents to take parties race meetings on day trips. It sounds fascinating because not o does NT supply the "bus" but admission to the grandstand ant paddock at low party rates and . . But let NT speak for itself.

They say the day out will give the customer, passenger or, ir turf terms, the punter — a horrible word that — spectacle, dran entertainment and interest. I suppose you could add exercise going to place bets and collect winnings.

They explain the facilities of the racecourse and the financial advantages of the package. Why, they even supply a racing calendar.

There is, of course, something missing, money to bet with al a well-marked race card. Still, I suppose you can't win 'em all.
