Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A MASS protest by the workforce at the Goodyear Tyre factory at Drurnchapel, Glasgow, over the 'serious deterioration' of one of the local bus services has led to an investigation by transport officials. The probe comes as a response to a letter sent to the Greater Glasgow Passenger Transport Executive by representatives of all sections of management and staff at the factory.

The letter complained about the deterioration in the No. 19 bus service on which many of the workforce rely. The letter said: "Since the majority of us are shift workers, reliability is of paramount importance and the non-appearance of a bus can lead to loss of earnings far in excess of the bus fare cost."

The letter claimed No. 19 buses were being used to subsidise other routes. A spokesman for GGPTE said: "We have received the letter and one of our senior officials is going to discuss the problems with the employees' representatives."
