Since 1989, the number of trucks travelling to mainland Europe has risen by 102%. Between the fourth quarter of last year and the first quarter of this year the total rose by 4,800 to 651,400. And the firstquarter figure was 8,400 up on the same period last year; a year-on-year increase of 1%.
