ri A Gloucestershire skip operator is offering a £500 reward to identify the vandals who did £5,000 worth of damage to his fleet of eight vehicles.

Tony Rutherford, of Hempsterl-based Rutherfords Skips, believes the instigators of the attack early on 31 May are rivals of his in the skip hire business. This attack was the third at the yard in nine months, says Rutherford.

"Previously they just smashed windscreens," he says. "But this time they have gone right round the vehicles and broken headlights, sidelights, backlights and indicators as well."

Gloucestershire police are appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious on Bank Holiday Monday to contact them. A dark coloured car was seen in the area several times during the day. "I have no idea who it was but I suspect it must be business rivals because the damage was done to cause maximum disruption to my business," says Rutherford.
