Two new anti-corrosive pigments which act as the sole corrosion inhibitors in a wide range of priming systems have been developed by Albright and Wilson. Known as Corinac A and Corinac C, the pigments are compounds containing hexavalent chromium and are said to give optimum anti-corrosion performance at a much lower level than is usual.
When used as an alternative to red lead, the Corinac pigments cut material costs appreciably and they. do not give rise to the toxicity problems associated with red-lead-based paints.
