he British Standards Institution as published a revised form of ;S 1435 covering "rubber hose, /ire-reinforced, for oil suction nd discharge services".
The standard specifies reuirements for various types of il suction and discharge hoses, eying smooth and abrasion;sisting outer covers, for use iith all grades of petroleum and tended products having an arolatic hydrocarbon content not reater than 25 per cent. Such oses are commonly used for -ansferring crude oil and liquid etroleum products (excluding quefied petroleum gases) to nd from tankers and bunkering essels or for similar duties shore,
The standard is divided for larity into four sections which ive: general requirements for all oses; specific requirements for ouch-bore hoses; specific reuirements for smooth-bore oses; specific requirements for lightweight hoses for discharge purposes only.
Metric units are specified throughout the standard, but imperial unit equivalents are given for information.
