Wiles Group

Two Wiles Group companies, Geo. 0. James Ltd. of Leeds and David Bloom Ltd. of Newcastle upon Tyne are merging with effect from January 1 to form a major supplier to the vehicle building industry. Trading as James and Bloom Ltd., the new organization will operate from depots in Cardiff, Dundee, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle. Head office will be at 162 Brinkburn Street, Newcastle upon Tyne. The chairman of James and Bloom is Mr. Douglas Oliphant, 32, also head of Northern Amalgamated Industries, one of the Wiles Group's major divisions. Sales director is Mr. Max Bloom. 59, and Mr. Roger Cameron, 41, is general manager.

Group trading profit before taxation WI Brockhouse and Cc'. Ltd. for the year ended September 30 1968 was £1,259,620 {less tax £617,0151. Chairman and managing director M. John Brockhouse said that during the year over El in had been spent on capital equipment. Trading position had improved in the second half of the year and the forecast was that this would continue through 1969.
