• Total sales of Bedford commercial vehicles in 1968 were 6.2 per cent higher than in 1967 at 97,484 units, with light vans selling at a record level of 36,805 in the home market.
Bedford retained its position as the world's biggest-selling export truck and also the leading truck in the UK. During the second half of the year there was a significant increase in overseas shipments, exports increasing by 22 per cent to 17,214, compared with the corresponding period of 1967.
