Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Walker Tridex of Telford says its three-deck car transporter, built to carry 12 vehicles, is 50mm lower than any previously built.

With an overall height of 4.72m the extra deck makes it possible to carry three cars more than with a twin-deck model yet still clear major obstacles such as motorway bridges.

Single-tyre axles make use of the space created within the car's wheelbase for up and down movement. Air bag suspension provides a less harsh ride for the valuable cargo, while pressure inside the bellows, forcing a pair of pistons against a spring, is used to operate load sensing for the braking system.

While more reliable than with steel suspension, the same Clayton Dewandre/Wabco valve can be used across a range of trailer weights where adjustment to the effective spring length is changed in line with the manufacturers recommendations.

With no levers to go out of adjustment air pressure control of the load sensing valve is claimed to improve tyre life.
