Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TWO vers:ons of the Trombone J. extensible -semi-trailer are now being produced by the -York Trailer 'Co. Ltd. The new Series II model differs from the Series I mainly in that the telescoping members are not at the outsides of the platform. Instead, the main frame members of the front and rear parts are boxed and one slides inside the other on bronze bearing. pads. In the open position, the gap between the front and rear platforms is filled by crossmembers which slide along tubular members and these are linked by steel cables which position them at 2 ft. centrus as the semitrailer opens. The change in design gives greater stiffness when the semi-trailer is extended and allows a distributed load to he carried on the Series II whereas only self-supporting loads are possible in the open position on the Series I.

Both models will be available, the Series 11 costing £150 more than the Series 1. The weight and loading height of the two designs are the same and running gear, options and so on. are common. Two lengths are offered; one is 26 ft. closed, 32 ft. in the mid position and 38 ft. fully extended, the other being 33 ft., 39 ft. and 45 ft. respectively. Five load capacities are made; 12 and 14 tons, single axle; 15 tons, twin-oscillating axle; and 17 and 20 tons, tandem axle. The shorter versions arc priced at £1,340, £1,463, £1,614, £1,963 and £2,079 respectively, these prices being increased 1-4r £280 in each case for the longer models.
