Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

IT is understood that the national council of the Road Haulage Association, at their quarterly meeting last week,. decided on the nominees to be put forward to the Minister of Transport for consideration in selecting members of the Road Haulage Disposals Board.

The names of three directors of the finance company to be set up by the Association and United Dominions Trust, .Ltd., were also agreed. The company will have six directors, three from each side.

The ad hoc committee of the association who have been negotiating with the Minister on the Transport Bill, have not yet been officially wound up.

SAUNDERS-ROE REVEAL SECRETS

FOR several days recently, 12 engineers 'Tom the Argentine Ministry of Transport were entertained at the Beaumaris factory of SaundersRoe (Anglesey), Ltd. The visitors were shown the methods employed in the production and maintenance of Rivaloy bodies of the type used in Buenos Aires, and were able to perform some of the operations entailed in the erection of a body from the main structural units. The technique employed in changing body panels was also tried out by the engineers.

A lecture on the design of the Saro body and a demonstration of the method of full-scale lithographic lofting used in the manufacture of SaundersRoe bodies formed part of the visit.

DISPUTE NOT SETTLED

A NOTHER effort to reach a settlement in the dispute concerning a bus service between West Hartlepool and Hartlepool has failed. West Hartlepool Corporation offered to give Hartlepool 25 per cent. of the profits, but this was rejected by Hartlepool, which proposed a 40-per-cent. share. Hartlepool Corporation have made provisional plans to operate their own service and a meeting is to be held to decide whether these arrangements should he put into force.

NEW SUNBEAM FOR GLASGOW

01-AIMED to he the first twin-axled

trolleybus seating over 60 passengers to go into service in Britain. a Sunbeam 62-seater joined Glasgow Transport Department's fleet last week. The vehicle is the first of 20, and has an Alexander body, English Electric traction equipment and hydraulic brakes. Some of the remaining vehicles will have Weymann bodies. The length is 27 ft. and the width 8 ft.

ARESOLUTION pledging full support to an resident who applied to run excursions from the district has been passed by Wortley Rural District Council. It was agreed that excursion facilities were inadequate.
