Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

This contender featured Dal 's usual 4/4 gearbox with rangechange and splitter. The gears are pretty self-explanatory, but to get up steep hills successfully calls for being really organised when it comes to changing gear. And, on this occasion, we felled — but we did manage to start again. There's also a fairly long throw into the forward gears.

The engine and exhaust brakes did little to help the service brakes, which are fairly good. There's little in the way of any dashboard read-out, only the speed selected for the limiter if you choose to run with it switched on, and a green symbol for low splits.

The cab is not nearly as spacious as those of its competitors. The dark grey interior might not help, as the interior seemed cramped compared with the other trucks in this test. And, compared with the much newer Stralis, it looked quite old fashioned. This is a good, traditional truck which doesn't provide too many surprises. it doesn't take much getting used to and is fairly straightforward, but you are perhaps getting a less luxurious environment than its competitors provide.
