Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Parcelforce Worldwide is joining forces with its Post Office stablemates to extend its range of logistics services and focus on specialist distribution.

Parcelforce Logistics will be touting for business in a range of sectors, including the distribution of components, educational materials and computers. high-value goods and cash distribution will be handled at regional sites equipped with secure facilities.

A spokeswoman says that food distribution and clothing distribution are not on Parcelforce Logistics' agenda as "we do not want to compete in areas that arc already well served".

UK and international services by road, rail and air will be offered through the Post Office's transport network. "The Post Office is looking to enter the commercial arena," says the spokeswoman. "It has served its internal market extremely well."

The move comes just a week after Parcelforce announced 1,500 job cuts in a bid to claw its way back to profit (CM 2-8 October).
