(-ARS and motorcycles, including three wheelers, increased in number by 802,000 last year to a record total of 9,216,000, whilst the number of public service vehicles decreased by 491 to 77,592. The total mileage of buses, trolleybuses and trams fell to 2,363,000 compared with 2,379,000 in 1962, whilst private vehicles travelled an estimated 58-9 thousand million vehicle miles in 1963. an increase of 3-3 thousand million vehicle miles over 1962.
