NUMBER plates with translucent letters and figures that may be illuminated from behind are being produced by Cornercroft, Ltd., Ace Works, Coventry. They consist of a casing with an appropriate number of Perspex plates behind which the characters are secured. The entire unit is sealed against water B2 and dirt, Its overall thickness is 1 in. It is claimed that only 6 w. are needed for the lighting current, compared with a normal 12 w. A flush-fitting type is available for recessing into coachwork.
