MR. A. R. FEARNLEY, general manager of Sheffield Corporation's transport department, is to retire in December.
One of England's bus-service pioneers, MR, GEORGE WALLIS, now retires from his position as senior garage manager with the Wilts and Dorset Motor Servicet, Ltd.
MR. R. GRESHAM COOKE, M.A., barrister, has been appointed secretary of the British Road Federation. in
succession to Mr. F. G. Bristow, who resigned recently so as to devote his whole time to his post as chief executive officer of the Commercial Motor Users Association. Ma. J. L. COLLYER has been appointed a director of the Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd.. He occupied the position of works director at Fort Dunlop from 1928-1931, since when he has been controller of manufacture at headquarters.
Mn. ROBERT BARR, the well-known Yorkshire operator of haulage and passenger vehicles, is to stand as Conservative candidate in the Leeds municipal elections. He is chairman of A.R.O. Yorkshire Area, and controls an important group of companies. He is a strong supporter of independent enterprise.
ALD. SIR WILLIAM KAY has been nominated as Manchester Corporation's representative on the panel of NorthWestern Traffic Commissioners. His name has been transmitted to the Minister of Transport for approval.
MR. BENJAMIN ENGLAND has been appointed general manager of the passenger-transport undertaking of Leicester Corporation. Latterly he has been general manager and engineer of the municipal-transport department at Southend.
M. H. F. BOND, late managing director of H. F. Bond, Ltd., Britannia Road Works, Ipswich, has severed his connection with the company and is operating as a specialist in effecting repairs and supplying spares in connection with Dennis lorries.
