THIRTEEN FOR LYONS: Albion Motors have received an order from J. Lyons and Co. Ltd., for 13 Claymore 4-ton lorries.

SIX FOR LIQUIDS: The Indian Oil Co. Ltd., Bombay, has ordered six Leyland Comets. They will have special cabs and 12,000-litre tanks.

JAMAICAN ORDER FOR TWO: Jamaica Omnibus Services have ordered four Leyland *Super Comet chassis which will be shipped complete with 31-seater dual-entrance bodies built by Metropolitan Cammell Weymann Ltd.

DERATED FOR UNDERGROUND WORK: Two more A.E.C. Mammoth Major six-wheelers have been ordered for use underground in the I.C.I. Anhydrite Mine at Billingham, near Middlesborough. They will be fitted with Edbro 10-eu.-yd. tipping bodies and will have derated engines to provide an acceptable exhaust gas analysis for underground working.

£112,000 ORDERS FOR GUY: Orders worth . £112,000 have been received recently by Guy Motors (Europe) Ltd., for Otter, Warrior and Invincible models. Amongst these are two orders from petroleum companies—one from Jet for Invincible eight-wheelers, the other from National Benzole for Warrior sixwheelers. Great Universal Stores have ordered six Warrior four-wheelers and Silent Knight another three Otter fourwheelers.

DUPLE IN DEMAND: Orders for " nearly a hundred Duple coach bodies have recently been placed by British operators. Of these, some 62 are for Bella Vega coachwork on Bedford SB chassis, including 30 vehicles for J. T. Whittle and Son, of Highley, Shropshire, 15 on petrol-engined SB3 chassis for Salopia Saloon Coaches Ltd., Whitchurch, Shropshire, 10 for• Central Coachways (Walsall) Ltd., and six for Hall Bros. (South Shields) Ltd. A further six of the similar Trooper bodies on Thames Trader chassis are on order for Wallace Arnold Tours Ltd. Vega Major 52-seaters on the Bedford VAL chassis have been ordered by Skill's Motor Coaches Ltd., Nottingham (eight vehicles), J. T. Whittle and Son (two) and Hall Bros. (South Shields) Ltd. (two). The last-mentioned concern has also ordered two Commodore 41-seaters on A.E.C. Reliance chassis. Global Tours• Ltd„ London, W.I, has called for seven A.E.C. Reliances with Continental 44/48-seater bodywork, whilst A. Timpson and Son Ltd., of Catford, has placed eight Alpine Continental 49-seaters, also in A.E.C. Reliance chassis, on order.
