Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Steel Tube Makers.

In our last week's issue we stated that one of our correspondents was finding some difficulty in securing suitable supplies of best solid-drawn weldless steel tubing. We have been advised by the following makers that they are in a position to give deliveries of the supplies desired: Accles and Pollock, Church Bridge, Oldbury ; Howell and Co., Sheffield Tube Works, Wincobank, Sheffield ; The Dacre Engineers Supply Ltd., 20, Victoria Street, Westminster, S.W. ; Tubes Ltd., Aston, Birmingham.

G.C. Vaporizer.

We have recently been afforded facilities, by the C.C. Vaporizer Ltd., 11, Hart Street, Bloomsbury, W.C., to inspect a demonstration installation of this company's latest form of paraffin vaporizer. Tests, which were certainly impressive, were carried out for our benefit on a four-cylinder petrol-electric set, the liquid fuel for which was of a very heavy nature. The G.C. vaporizer enabled the engine, after having been started up on petrol, to run with remarkable elasticity, so far as speed variation is concerned, on such unpromising-looking fuel. The exhaust, even when the engine was very rapidly accelerated after a period of slow running, exhibited hardly any trace of blue smoke. We are anticipating a further opportunity more closely to insnect the results which ar being obtained with this interesting vaporizer, and we shall have occasion further to mention this apparatus in an early issue.

Lamps and Dynamos.

Joseph Lucas, Ltd., of Birmingham, has sent its

Best of Everything " catalogue of motor matters. The booklet is a fine specimen of the printer's work, and it is noticeable chiefly for clear text and illustrations. Lamps, both electric and acetylene, of many types, are described and illustrated, and a point which should be borne in mind by every catalogue compiler is that throughout the book the illustrations are placed on the right-hand side, whilst. the text is on the oppo

site and left-hand side. This prevents confusion, and at the same time explains whatever it is desired to explain in the simplest possible way. There is no need to belabour here the subject of the Lucas specialities ; long experience on the road is enough in itself to ensure their acceptance by almost every user of motor vehicles. The Lucas " Lorilite," specially designed for commercial vehicles, is a fine example of heavy lamp work. Many of the owners of vans and lorries, which are at present not sufficiently lighted, would do well to investigate the claims of the " Lenti " in order to avoid future trouble and expense. The "King of the Road" dynamo is fully explained, as is also a good range of accumulators of lighting systems. Garage accessories occupy the last few pages of the catalogue, which should most certainly secure a place on its own merits in the catalogue files of enterprising firms.
