Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

FURNITURE CHAIN MFI is closing three regional distribution depots with the loss of 180 jobs.

The closures are part of a wide-ranging recovery programme — MFI made a pre-tax loss of nearly £111m last year compared with a £20m profit the year before.

As well as the depots in

Nottingham, Glasgow and Aldershot, two factories will close, with up to 1,500 job losses in total.

It is not yet clear how other parts of the distribution network will be affected by the restructuring.

The company relies on a mix of in-house and third-party operations, but all of its regional home

delivery work is contracted out.

Rugby-based Breezemount Transport has provided MFI with multi-drop and 'white glove' deliveries for over eght years. It also handles multi-drop work for MFI's Sofa Workshop chain.

Breezemount national fleet manager Tim Handley declines to comment.
