• Norbert Dentressangle subsidiary Aston Clinton Haulage is waiting to find out what action will be taken against its licence following convictions for drivers' hours offences.
Eastern LA Brigadier Compton Boyd reserved his decision on the licence at a Cambridge public inquiry: he will give his decision in writing.
In June the company pleaded guilty before Aylesbury magistrates to 39 offences of failing to preserve tachograph records and permitting drivers to drive excessive hours and rake insufficient rest. It was ordered to pay £14,950 in fines and costs .
A lengthy investigation revealed that the company had failed to keep its tachograph records for at least a year. About 90 charts were missing, covering some 30,000km.
For the company, it was said that the offences were not as serious as they first appeared.
