Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Tipper operator Young's Haulage plans to win general distribution business following an injection of cash from an offshore services company.

The Esh Winning, County Durham-based haulier, which runs 46 trucks, intends to develop its general haulage business by acquiring at least two companies this year. It is particularly interested in firms with 10-20 trucks in the North-East, South Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Nottingamshire and Leicester-shire. Young's earns about 5% of its revenue from general haulage; it hopes that the financial backing from Newcastle upon Tynebased Shepherd Offshore will help build up this sector to account for 50% of turnover within two years.

Two weeks ago Young's took over the haulage arm of mining contractor Andrew Golightly. It acquired six trucks from the Shildon-based contractor and will handle Golightly's haulage for the next three years. This represents 250,000 tonnes of freight a year.
