Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Standards acceptable to the Factory Inspectorate to comply with the 1972 Highly Flammable Liquids and Liquefied Petroleum Gases Regulations are contained in a guide just published by the Department of Employment.

Most of the Regulations will come into force on June 21 and will apply to the storage and use in factories of liquids with a flash point below 32 degrees Celsius.

The guide emphasizes the safe siting of storage areas and advice is also given on avoiding spillage and how to deal with it if it does occur.

An appendix to the guide lists other publications on the safe use and storage of highly flammable liquids and information is also given on publications now being prepared which deal with particular processes and industries.

The Booklet, Highly Flammable Liquids and Liquefied Petroleum Gases — Guide to the Regulations, 1972 is available from HMSO, price 12p.
