Ati interesting summary of the road motor service developments of the Great Western Railway during the past year is given in the Sammy issue of the " G.W.P.. Magazine:" It is mentioned that no fewer than 80 small, fast buses were added to the company's fleet during 1925, and many ne* services inaugurated. To cope with the increased number of vehicles in use greater facilities for repairs and over

hauls became necessary and to meet these requirements a new brick building 228 ft. in length by 81 ft. in width has been added to the repairs department at Slough. The new, shop has been provided with up-to-date tools and appliances, including machines for reboring engine cylinders, tyre vulcanizing and special power-unit lifting gantries.

In the G.W.R. cartage department 57 motor vehicles and a dozen trailersrailers were were added to the fleet during the year. With the object of increasing the loading space all the new light delivery vehicles have the engine under the driver's seat. It is added that good use , is being made of the Fordson tractor for road haulage work and that experiments are in progress with a delivery vehicle fitted with an air-cooled engine with the object of meeting the need for some cheap form of motor vehicle.
