THE NUMBER of Ivecos being stolen has fallen dramatically since immobilisers became standard equipment in 2001.
The latest TruckPol figures show that 734 Nee° trucks with engines over five litres were stolen in 2004, including 166 vehicles registered between 1993 and 1995; 230 between 1996 and 1998; 148 between 1999 and 2001— and only nine between 2002 and 2004.
Iveco UK market director Chris Thorn eycroft-Smith says: "The figures really do speak for themselves, and we are confident that the strong security credentials of our product ranges will continue to help reduce truck theft rates across the country."
