• Ormskirk, Lancs-based 12-vehicle operator, Kammac 1988 has lost an appeal against an industrial tribunal decision that it sacked a driver unfairly.

Last September an industrial tribunal awarded driver Brian Ellison 26,300: this decision was upheld by Mr Justice Morrison.

Ellison was dismissed after he was told to take a load to Southampton, but said he would only bring it back if he got a backload.

He was told that another driver would bring it back and was told to pack up his things.

When Ellison reported for work he found he had been sacked.
