Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AThese all relate to the gross or combined weight of a vehicle (and trailers if any) and the load carried.

The abreviation g.v.w. (gross vehicle weight) is normally applied to a rigid vehicle, i.e. four-, sixor eight-wheeler, while g.t.w. (gross train weight) is used to denote the total weight of articulated outfits, i.e. tractive unit with the semi-trailer and its load.

The abreviation g.c.w. (gross combination weight) is used to describe the total weight of a towing vehicle and drawbar trailer combination, including the load carried. This terminology is not universal, but it is the system adopted by this journal, and widely accepted.
