I N a reserved decision, the West Mid lands Licensing Authority, Mr. John Else, last week granted five A-licensed vehicles to Alfred Bell, Ltd., Newcastle upon Tyne, to operate from their Kingswinford warehouse.

Mr. Else had postponed his decision to study a brochure produced by the company containing evidence supporting their application.

Mr. Else said that although some of the contents of the brochure were undoubtably "window dressing," all the essential information necessary for the consideration of the application was there and, above all, it was presented with clarity.

"1 can only hope that other operators of substance will be encouraged to provide information in similar form to support their applications and will circulate the same to me and any objectors prior to the hearing of the application," he added.

At the hearing, Bell's amended the normal user to read "Distribution of con sumer goods from the applicant's warehouse at Kingswinford within 50 miles of base and, in addition, foodstuffs from the same warehouse to South Wales, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall." In addition, they gave an undertaking as to the carriage of furniture which satisfied a group of objectors concerned with this type of work, the decision continued.

Also British Railways and British Road Services withdrew their objection having seen the documentary evidence and heard the amended normal user.
