Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Hauliers running through two Welsh villages are under pressure to take a seven-mile diversion following moves by Plaid Cymru.

The political party's local campaigns director Wayne Vernon says Tesco and Aldi have agreed to alter the routes of their vehicles when they deliver to their supermarkets in Ebbw Vale.

Local firms British Steel, the Co-op and Exel Logistics Tradeteam are still considering the request. But landfill site operator Silent Valley says the proposed route would force it to operate an extra vehicle.

The move follows long. running complaints that the A4046 Newbridge to Ebbw Vale road, which runs through the villages of Cwym and Waunlwyd, is not suitable for heavy lorries. Residents say more than five lorries an hour are going through at peak times. They say operators should use the less sensitive, but longer, parallel route, the A467, and then the A465 into Ebbw Vale.
