Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

It was hot and sticky last Friday evening; the weekend traffic jams in the South East were piling up as Londoners made for the coast. There was I, stuck in a queue at.the lights on a five-way crossing on the A20. On my inside was an MG with the hood down and an obviously hot, uncomfortable pair of occupants who were less than happy to find themselves joined on their inside by an hgv whose exhaust puffed right across the MG.

Then it happened—one of those nice touches that help to improve the image of the hgv driver. He saw their discomfort and edged his outfit forward, not only far enough to remove the offending smell but also so that his load cast a comforting shadow over the open coupe. If Mr Best of Dartford Wharfage should read this, perhaps he'll mention it to the driver of fleet number 178.
