Polyurethane Airless Cold Spray MOW developed by the Robert Kearsley Division of Pinchin 1.11 Johnson and Associates Ltd. is a process by which polyurethane paints can be applied by airless cold spray. Using this system it is claimed that an exceptionally high film thickness (about 0-003 in. dry per coat) can be achieved, so reducing the number of applications necessary. Airless cold spraying can be carried out in an open shop, provided there are adequate ventilation or extraction facilities. But light masks, capable of preventing solid particles of spray dust being inhaled, must be worn.

The makers state that their polyurethane enamels—resistant to petrol, fuel oils and chemicals, with initial high gloss and good gloss retention—are ideally suitable for use with public service vehicles, commercial vehicles and industrial equipment.

A special brushing quality of polyurethane surface coatings has been developed for use where spraying is impracticable or uneconomical. This can also be applied (adding the appropriate thinner) by the conventional or electrostatic spray methods.
